What is Code To Text Ratio?

Code To Text Ratio is a tool that tells you the percentage of actual text on a web page, compared to the amount of code. This can be useful when optimizing your website for search engines, as it helps them determine how much relevant content there is on the page.

A higher Code To Text Ratio means more relevant content and thus a better chance of ranking well in search results. Conversely, a lower Code To Text Ratio may indicate that a lot of the content on the page is not relevant to what people are searching for.

There is no perfect Code To Text Ratio, but generally speaking, aim for a ratio of at least 50%.

Here’s how to check your :

1. Go to your website’s home page.

2. Right-click anywhere on the page and select “View source” or “View page source.”

3. A new window will open with all the code for the page.

4. Select and copy all the text (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C).

5. Paste the text into a word processor such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs (Ctrl+V).

6. Use the word processor’s word count tool to count the number of words in the text.

7. Divide the number of words by the total number of words on the page (including code). This is your.

For example, if your home page has 1,000 words of text and Code, your  would be 50%.

It’s is just one of many factors that search engines use to rank websites. But it’s a good metric to keep track of, as it can give you an indication of how well your website is optimized for search.
